Whitmeyer Photography wins another WPJA award!













The following image recently won 4th place in the Wedding Photojournalist's Association's (WPJA) Q4 contest in the category "Great Natural Light". The WPJA is an international organization for wedding photographers who are trained in photojournalism.  This is Whitmeyer Photography's 3rd award-winning image in only 2 years! Every Mother's Dream Songs featured on Website!


I couldn't possibly be more excited to announce that the music on my website has been provided by former clients, Jay and Mandy Kaiser and their incredible Asheville-based band "Every Mothers Dream". The three tracks featured on Whitmeyer Photography's website are off their 2005 release, "big blend" and are titled 1. Worth Waiting For, 2. Into the Sun, and 3. Beamer in the Mountain. 

Jay and Mandy provide guitar and vocals for Every Mother's Dream, a band that prides themselves on not being pigeon-holed into a specific genre of music. Thus, their aptly titled album "big blend" is truly a blend of all different styles of music with one thing in common--awesomeness!!

Every Mother's Dream's next gig is FREE  (so there are no excuses)! Go check them out! They will be at the French Broad Brewery in Asheville on March 21st at 5:30pm.

The Portraits of Lauren Rogers



I had the distinct pleasure of taking my cousin, Lauren Rogers', bridal portraits on Monday at Wake Forest University Campus! Lauren, you are a beautiful bride and an inspiration! Thanks for letting me a part of everything! 

Lauren is getting married in Greenville, NC on May 23rd of this year to the lucky (in my opinion, of course!) Johnathan Beam. They have a wedding website about their big day.

  • With our new Wedding Gift Cards, guests can order gift certificates (and pay online with a credit card or with a check in the mail) for any amount! They can decide to put that towards your wedding total charges or they can buy you items such as albums, print vouchers, dvds, and more! 
  • Also, when guests purchase gift cards, they will also receive an actual paper certificate that they can include in a card on the day of the wedding!

Whitmeyer Photography adds Associate Photographers Traci White and Rachael Hyde


Whitmeyer Photography is PROUD to announce the addition of Associate Photographers! This means that even if I'm booked for your wedding date, I can connect you with one of my trusted fellow photojournalists and Whitmeyer Photography can still be a part of your big day. Yay for blogging!


Welcome to Whitmeyer Photography's Blog! We are excited to be able to post portrait and wedding photographs immediately after taking them here and share with you all the interesting stuff going on with Whitmeyer Photography.  The photo to the left was taken at one of my recent weddings in Raleigh, NC (Feb. 7, 2009) and features a friend of mine and the beautiful bride, Ashley and her new husband, Josh at the Meredith College Chapel. Photograph was taken by my lovely cousin (and photography assistant), Audrey Whitmeyer-Weathers!
