Dana and Skyler get hitched!

This past Saturday (June 13) I had the pleasure of attending the wedding of Dana Falkenburg and Skyler Wason at Little Switzerland Inn in Little Switzerland off the Blue Ridge Parkway. Skyler and Dana met while in school in at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. Dana is currently a graduate student in the philosophy department at UNC-Chapel Hill ( yay tarheels!) and Skyler is managing a medical records software company in Raleigh, NC. Skyler proposed to Dana Christmas Day, 2007.

The wedding day was a beautiful one!! The sun was shining (and it definitely felt like June!!) and the view from the Little Switzerland Inn was incredible! Dana walked down the aisle (escorted by her brother, Nathan) to "All I Want Is You" by Barry Louis Polisar from the Juno Soundtrack. The couple was also serenaded during the ceremony with the Beatles song, "When I'm 64".  Below are some highlights of Dana and Skyler's wedding day!
The Day started off with hair and make up at Lola Salon in Asheville.

Flowers for the day were beautifully done by Karen at Browns Floral

Dana spent a lot of time and effort on all the beautiful decorations. Each of these adorable birdhouses was painted by Dana. Dana and Skyler also handmade the programs, the place cards, table cards, and much more!!

Skyler gives his mom a hug after making his way down the aisle.

Dan and Skyler hold hands while listening to an excerpt from "The Little Prince", read by Skyler's mother, Sarah.

Can you tell these guys are happy!??!

Skyler's brother fishes for the rings in his pocket.

I thought this moment was exceptionally sweet. Dana touches Skyler's face in such a soft and loving way, possibly wiping a tear.

The wedding party!

There were quite a few requests for the bride and groom to kiss during dinner!

This group definitely knew how to let loose and do some dancing! Jill Phillips from All the Right Grooves served as DJ for the night.

The bride gets down...literally!

Shoes were taken off and the dancing continued!!
There was even some hula hooping!!
A special Thanks to my cousin, Audrey, for being my assistant for the day. Audrey is currently a photojournalism student at UNC-Chapel Hill, my alma mater! Here she is below crouching down to get the right shot at Lola Salon Saturday morning!
